More Fake Resumes - Kickbacks and Cronyism
As we have covered in the past, Indian recruiters are often suspected by people of being scammers?
We have an entire article about the problem with Indian recruiters reaching out to people with fake jobs--it's a constant source of complains on LinkedIn posts and in forums on places like Reddit.
Another issue that comes up is that people are hiring friends (or even people that are not friends) who are not qualified. They are hiring them using fake resumes and doing so for a variety of reasons.
Here's a recent example that made the news: https://patch.com/minnesota/edenprairie/ex-optum-employee-guilty-fraud-scheme-took-massive-kickbacks-authorities
This person was hired for a job they were not qualified for, they did almost no work, and yet received compensation and raises. It is a case of cronyism and people doing things that are not on the up and up.
In this case, they were found guilty of fraud and money laundering.
However, this is not a unique situation. All across the country people are working in roles where they shouldn't be because they pay off people and there are people in positions to hire people who accept bribes in order to hire someone.
